  Training for people working with people who have ASC

 BTSS is pleased to offer a range of training opportunities for front line staff as well as for managers or professional staff.  Training days are usually tailored to the needs of the participants, and can aim to give an overall introduction to ASC through to giving extra time to allow participants to practice working with people who have ASC.

 This is an example of an introductory day for probation staff who have some people with ASC on their caseload.

 9:30 – 4:30

 

1.                  Introduction of trainer and day (9:30 – 09:45)

2.                 Introduction of each other (09-45 – 10:15)

3.                 PART ONE - Recognising ASC (10:15 – 11:15)

11:15 – 11:45 Break

4.                 Recognising ASC continued (11:45 – 12:30)

LUNCH (12:30 – 1:30)

5.                 PART TWO – Working with ASC (1:30 – 1:45)

6.                 Typical approaches to working with problems (1:45 – 2:30)

2:30 – 3:00 Break

7.                 Approaches to constructing solutions (3:00 – 3:30)

8.                 What can you do differently in your work? (3:30 – 4:15)

9.                 Evaluation of training / wrap up (4:15 – 4:30)

Fees for training are £400.00 per half day plus travel and accommodation expenses.  Fees include free email support after the training as well as training booklets for each participant.  Training methods consist of lecture, discussion, group work as well as use of DVD material.

 Follow up support is available at a per hour cost for each participant or for groups of participants in their place of work.
