   ASC Support for Employers
 

People with ASC often feel as though some form of ‘translation’ is needed in order for them to communicate effectively with those around them.  Autism is a culture in itself, with different priorities and different use of language.  In order to ease the way for people with ASC to obtain and maintain employment as well as to help employers meet their responsibilities under the Disability Discrimination Act 2005, which covers people with ASC, we offer a range of consultation or training to a wide variety of employers.
 

BTSS has provided support to:

  • Small Businesses

  • Employment Support Agencies

  • The National Lottery

  • City Council Services

 
We have attended meetings with front line staff, middle managers and higher executives on behalf of people with ASC and we have provided written support for employers as they try to support their autistic employees.  We have amended job descriptions, employee evaluation forms, return to work requirements and have provided recommendations for the daily support of individuals.

The basis for our consultation work is always Solution Focused Approaches, using our expertise in autism to work towards the preferred future of the business as a whole.
